Recently, I photographed a selection of china for an exhibition titled Faces & Flowers: Painting on Lenox China. This work had some unique problems associated with getting good quality images. Several of the pieces had gold leaf surfaces and special glazing. One pictured below was particularly challenging with its' dark blue glaze and gold surface. To get the gold to show well and not over light the blue was interesting to say the least.
I have also included two other pieces from the exhibit I found interesting for the over the top decorative arts approach and the way they combine various styles from different periods.
